Okay guys, as usuall, I’m struggling to come up with something to write here, so I’m just going to give you my recipe for home-made cocoa OTL <- that's an emoticon btw...

Alright, here's what you need:

- cocoa powder, 2 tablespoons
- sugar, 2 teaspoons
- vanilla sugar, about 1-2 teaspoons
- milk

First, mix everything but the milk in one large cup. Add a little milk to that and stir until it turns into a creamy substance. After you've got it really creamy and got rid of all the cocoa powder lumps, add like 1 cup of milk or so, until you're satisfied with the amount.

Put it in the microwave and warm it up for maybe 2-2,5 minutes and stir once after half of the time has passed.

Done!! (＾∀＾)

Of course, you can experiment with the amount of sugar and cocoa powder to your own liking. I love hot chocolate and this is way better than the super-sweet stuff you buy at the stores.

Hey there.

I have to tell you about this new DS game that’s in the making. Seriously, this game looks so frickin’ awesome and I have really high hopes for it. As I said, it’s not out yet (not even in Japan(!)) so it might be a while until you can actually play it, but anyways. The game is called ‘Fantasy Life‘ and is developed by Level 5 and Brownie Brown. If you’ve played ‘Mother 3′, which also is a super awesome game, you’re going to recognize the sweet pixel art in Fantasy Life – it looks amazing!
If I’ve understood things correctly, you play as many different characters throughout the game, and every character has got his/her own specific routines and duties and, well… lives. I read somewhere, maybe IGN, that it’s going to be somewhat like the game ‘Animal Crossing’, but details are sparse at the moment, so I can’t comment on that at the moment.
The game is coming out sometime this year in Japan. And if the reviews say it’s good, I’m definitely getting this one.

I’ve always admired people that know how to program. These people make things come alive by typing some weird mumbo jumbo into a text editor, or whatever they use. All I know is that it’s all text and I don’t have the slightest clue how they do it. Okay, I know SOME programming, if you count HTML… (x_x;) I also know some CSS (does that count as programming?) and some Actionscript 3, which is very fun to work with. I only know the basics though… I’m thinking about learning more about it after I’m done with this comic and I’ve gotten settled in my new apartment and all that. I’ve actually got some verrrry easy things done with AS3, and what I love about programming is the feeling of joy when the things you’ve done are actually working. And the more complicated it gets, the bigger the joy :)
I think I’ve already mentioned this, but I really want to start making my own games, you know. It’s a dream I’ve had since I was a kid. I know it’s NOT impossible, but you have to be smart to do it. And you have to know some math too I think…
I’M TRYING TO THINK BUT NOTHING’S HAPPENING… hah!, just kidding :D That was just something I heard on the Howard Stern Show the other day. It’s some kind of sound effect they play sometimes, and I thought it kind of sums up how I feel when I try to program :p

Well… it’s getting late, so I think I’m going to wrap things up here, watch some “Happy Console Gamer” on YouTube (EXCELLENT video-game-review-guy), while practicing my drawing skills and head to bed.

Did you see this? It’s a propaganda manga made to explain the purpose of the military partnership between USA and Japan. It’s title in English is “Our Alliance – A Lasting Partnership”. I haven’t read all of it, but it seems a bit interesting (it’s only available in Japanese though, sorry). Fully colored too. I didn’t see much US troops when I still lived in Japan, but apparently there are still over 35.000 of them to this day.
Apparently, the whole thing is going to be four parts long, and if you’re interested in getting updates from the site, just click the link that is kind of in the middle of the page. Where is says “新冊子閲覧可能のお知らせを御希望の際はこちらをクリックしてください。” and send a blank e-mail to it (that’s how I did).
This may or may not be interesting to you, if you’re not living in Japan/know Japanese, but I thought I’d show you anyways :p

Hey!

I think I have to read up on how to use twitter again, because there’s stuff about it that I still feel I don’t really get. Like, if someone replies to one of your tweets, how are you supposed to find these tweets? Are you really supposed to go through your whole twitter feed just to look for replies that people did to you? That doesn’t sound like a very good solution to me. Especially if you’re following a lot of people. There has to be some kind of online service that helps you keep track of replies and maybe have a search function where you can search for specific tweets in your own twitter feed and whatnot. I have to do some digging I think (ΦωΦ)

In other news; my big sister got engaged today! BIG congrats to her and her hard-rock viking! (＾▽＾)

Hey everybody! Long time no see eh?

I’ve been drawing and drawing and planning and drawing and I’m happy to announce that all the art is finished for the remaining 11 pages!! All I have to do now is add the speech bubbles in Illustrator and upload them… and of course, write these little “blog posts” about each of them. I tell you, writing this is almost harder than drawing the comic itself, since nothing interesting ever happens in my life, so it always hard to come up with a topic, lol! (>▽<) Plus, I’m so frickin’ hungry right now everything I can think of is FOOD! I’m starving… Well, I AM a “starving artist”, so I guess it’s only natural? It’s a part of the job.

Anyways, I’ll post (or at least try to) a new page per day until they’re all up! It’s goes up to page 52 which will be the last. However, when all that is done I’ll go back and do some touching up on earlier pages and try to make them fit the rest better. Like, changing the look of Claude and Chloe, because they have a whole different look to them in the beginning of the story. Some pages will even be removed completely, so the whole story will come down to 50 pages when I’m done. But don’t worry, the plot itself is still the same. I’m just getting rid of stuff that isn’t really needed – “Kill your darlings”, as they say.

So, I guess I’ll be posting here tomorrow as well if everything goes as planned. Until then, enjoy!

Anyways, you know what day it is today? Today it’s exactly one year since I uploaded the very FIRST page of this comic you’re hopefully reading now. However, I remember that I had a bunch of pages that I uploaded at one time and I think I changed the dates on them all, because I think that Wordpress (or ComicPress, which is the theme I’m using) only allows one post per day, or something like that. But, let’s just make things easy and say that the official “birth” of the comic was on March 10th, 2009! So, yay!! (^▽^)

I haven’t had time to plan anything special for the occasion, but I’ll see what I can come up with – if anything! :p

Anyways, enjoy the comic, wish Pierre a happy birthday(?) and I’ll see you next time :D

This page introduces yet another character to the story! :D His name is Ross (he’s a penguin) and, as Chloe said, he’s got the honor of counting aaall the cookies that Pierre and GLU-10 made.
I’ll update the characters’ section with a short description of Ross in just a minute…

I’ve only drawn a few penguin characters in my whole life, so I had to use a lot of referenses (thank you Google Image Search!) to get him to look the way I wanted. But I’m happy with how he turned out. Plus, I had a hard time finding a good picture of a guy/girl with a sweater tied around his/her neck, but I think I got that down too :D

Wazzup everyone?

You want to know something funny? I just applied for a job (okey, that’s not the funny part, wait for it). Can you guess what kind of job it was?.. Baker!! (≧▽≦) I’ll get the answer (if any) in 2-3 weeks from now.
That would be interesting… first I start working on a comic that revolves a baking cat, then I go become a baker myself, haha! I don’t have any experience from “the field” what-so-ever, other than baking at home, which I tend to do pretty often lately. Anyways, I hope I get it, because I’m tired of being a starving artist! :p

Speaking of starving, my stomach has started to make funny noises so I’m going to go make some porridge* now.

* Apparently, porridge is the exact same thing as “oatmeal” in the US. I thought oatmeal was something else, but now I know it’s not. Thank you Wikipedia, for once again shedding light over my biggest questions in life!

The design for the robot I though up on the train on my way home from work. Of course I had to work on it for a while, but I knew from the start that I wanted it to a) be simple, and b) look like Pierre. Most of the details on it have a purpose, which you’re going to see eventually.

I also had to think of a good name, and what could be a better name for a baking robot than GLU-10 (pronounced “gluten”)? If you didn’t know, gluten is the very same substance that makes your bread loafs and sandwiches hold together and not fall apart. It’s what makes the dough sticky when you mix flour with water.
How do I know all this? Because my father is allergic to it and he has to buy a special kind of flour that doesn’t contain gluten. I tried to make cinnamon rolls with it once. It was hell.

Anyways, now Windows’ “Automatic Updates” is starting to bitch about restarting my computer, even though I’ve pressed the I’ll-restart-the-god-fricking-computer-later-thanks-for-asking-though button three times already!
There are times like these that makes me dream. It makes me dream of the day I’ll be able to pick up my pay check and go buy a Macintosh. No more virures, no more malware, no more driver hassle, no more blue screen, no more [insert favorite windows problem here]. It just works.
When we talk about Mac OS, that’s when you can start to talk about programming as art… *Windows asks me again; ‘Do you want to restart you computer now?’ I click ‘Restart Later’*… because it’s just so beautiful.

Alright, this thing is driving me nuts, so I’ll see you guys later!
